MAISHA T. ROBINSON, M.D.

 

Dr. Maisha Robinson is one of the twin daughters of Revs. Kenneth and Marilynn Robinson. After being raised in Tennessee and educated in the public school systems in Nashville and Memphis, she earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University, her medical degree from Tufts University, and a Master of Science in Health Policy and Management from the University of California, Los Angeles as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar. She completed her residency training in Neurology at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and a Neurohospitalist fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Florida.

Dr. Robinson is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Florida. At Mayo, she established a Neuropalliative Care program and she serves as the Medical Director of Palliative Medicine and the Program Director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship. As a result of her unique clinical skillset, she is an invited speaker at medical institutions and at conferences domestically and internationally. In addition to her multiple academic and professional accomplishments, Maisha considers her success on Match.com as one of the highlights of her life. Six years after meeting online, Maisha and Johnathan married in a beautiful ceremony at St. Andrew AME Church in April 2018.
